The Role

Will Reed is becoming a category leader in early-stage Executive Search. Our team has experienced 2x growth over the past year, and in order to continue scaling effectively, we are building out our senior leadership team with several key hires. One of the most important hires we will make this year is the addition of our first Partner of Executive Search. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, this individual will provide strategic leadership within our organization.

In this role, you will  be responsible for leading and managing a Search team of 2-4 Executive Recruiters as they develop their careers at Will Reed. Additionally, you will own a large part of the company’s business development and sales targets, ensuring your team is set up for success against their goals. Finally, you will lead the development, coaching and mentoring of your clients through the entire recruiting process, setting an exceptionally high bar for search delivery.

We’ll look to you to drive our  internal culture and external brand by leading by example and holding yourself and your team to a bar-raising standard of excellence. As a trusted leader on our team, you will be one of the key players in building data-driven, scalable processes and playbooks that help your team thrive and meet the needs of our clients. We are seeking an outstanding leader who has a passion for the startup and VC ecosystem and who loves to help build and drive impact in the early stages of a young company.

The Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Hire, develop and coach an exceptional team of 2-4 recruiters through their career journeys at Will Reed
  • Point others to excellence through your strong example 
  • Win the hearts and minds of your team by being a culture carrier internally and externally

Selling New Business

  • Own a book of business and achieve quarterly and annual business development targets for your team
  • Represent Will Reed to the early-stage/VC ecosystem within both an existing and growing network of influence

Delivery Excellence

  • Act as a primary lead on your team’s executive searches, continuously delighting and driving top value for our clients and VC partners
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and partner with our clients to drive exceptional recruiting strategy

Strategic Business Leadership

  • Help lead team capacity and forecast strategy along with CEO, CFO and other Will Reed stakeholders 
  • Be involved in building process that drives consistency and scalability for your team and your clients

The Requirements

  • 9+ years in agency or internal recruiting work
  • 4+ years in Executive Search and stakeholder management
  • Experience leading and developing a team 
  • An understanding of the early-stage/VC community and a powerful network within this ecosystem
  • You are a true expert of hiring trends within the tech/SaaS industry
  • You are an innovator and a builder who thrives in early-stage environments
